What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy are both widely adopted and proven psychotherapeutic approaches to help people overcome anxieties & fears, among other things. By using both approaches together, it has been shown to give results that are even more effective and long lasting than using either therapy on its own.

A Bit More About Hypnosis

Hypnosis is simply a relaxation process that helps the mind reach a state where it is more open to taking in positive suggestions more readily.

It’s not like being asleep or unconscious, more like a day dreaming state where you feel very relaxed and open to suggestions that help you to think about things & behave differently to bring about therapeutic change. Drifting off can happen which is fine. It is completely safe. You never get stuck in hypnosis.

Anyone can be hypnotised, there are no special skills required, you just need to relax and think positively. The more experience you have of hypnosis, the better you’ll be.


You only accept suggestions that you choose. Suggestions are agreed between us based on what you have asked.

Finally, comedy stage hypnosis is very different and has caused misconceptions which can prevent people benefiting from hypnosis. I cannot and have no desire to make you wander around like a clucking chicken!
